is this:
you cannot say you care about them
unless you are willing to identify with them.
whoever 'they' are,
it applies to whatever context,
indeed
the 'they' disappears
as the identification enters
because it gets replaced
with 'us'.
i wondered earlier on
that i feel my life may make more sense
if i actually was ____.
instead of just alongside,
actually am.
but i have no control over that.
what i do have, though,
is the option to either
'care',
silently
or care,
actively,
thus sharing in all the oppression and the anger and the hurt and the despair.
if he
or she
is not accepted
then i refuse to be either.
