i know that generally

he is merely thought of as the betrayer,

the one we all point

and hate to,

the scapegoat,

the one who by a traitor's kiss

gave up the son of man.

but

he was a good friend

and companion.

he spent time with him

like everybody else

witnessed the miracles

heard the teachings

and enjoyed the parties

proudly

one of the 12

chosen

to follow.

and yeah,

he screwed up

but who doesn't?

and he said sorry.
he regretted,
pleaded forgiveness,
yet you refused to grant
his absolution.

and when the savior returned on the third

new, victor,

he wasn't there like the rest.

jesus came to say hi

to enjoy a few last weeks

catching up

relaxing

chilling out with the people he loved,

all of them

except one

whose body

was hanging

from a tree.
